Last weekend, I took a little trip up to L.A. for dinner at Bestia. It was a great trendy little spot with some great tapas styling eating. It was a great opportunity to break out some spring pieces that I haven't had the chance to wear in New York yet. I loved the whole industrial feel of the restaurant  and our waiter was super knowledgable. So what was on the menu? We started with a  salumi plate filled with some delicious house-cured meats and a side of homemade mustard and pickled veggies. Next, we ventured out for some beef heart tartare. That's right, I had raw beef heart. I was weary at first, but it was seriously delicious! After that, I had a taste of scallop crudo. It was perfectly seasoned with a kick of chili oil. My favorite dish was their bone marrow, and that was followed by cavatelli alla Norcina (a ricotta dumpling pasta with sausage). Dessert came in the form of "coffee and donuts", which was coffee ice cream, whipped cream, and the fluffiest donuts. We also enjoyed blood orange sorbet and pine nut brown sugar meringue. 

Overall, the meal was fantastic. It did get loud, but I can totally see this as the perfect trendy spot for going out with girlfriends, or even a fancy date. If you're in the L.A. area, definitely check out Bestia!
