I was recently tagged by Deb, over at Coffee Prose and Pretty Clothes, for the Sunshine Award. Rather than doing eleven facts about me, I thought I'd do eleven things that I'm thankful for! First, I'll answer her questions:

1 / What's your current favorite Fall/Winter trend? Definitely the color pink! Although I probably won't be purchasing anything in this color, it's a sweet trend going around and I think it looks lovely!
2 / If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Get ready for the most boring answer ever - I'd pay off my student loans. Unfortunately, Parsons is expensive, and I'm a practical girl.
3 / Describe your dream job. For my dream job I would be working for myself in a fashion related business. Having your own company is the best way to have control over your creative process and business practices.
4 / Do you have a special talent? I'm good with crafty things? I guess that's a given seeing what my field of study is. How about, I can make weird shapes with my tongue?
5 / Who is your celebrity crush? Jay Baruchel. He just looks so affable and cute, like somebody I would actually meet at a coffee shop and having a conversation with that doesn't include ogling and being petrified.
6 / What if the first thing you notice about people? How they interact with others. I'll generally look at their entire disposition and see how they get along with others.
7 / If you were another person, would you be friends with you? I would hope so! I would like to think that my disposition is generally pleasant and that I'm a good friend. If I can't like myself, then how can I expect others to?
8 / Who inspires your style? My mother! She has a great eye, and is always honest about what I wear. She's also such a stylish lady, and will encourage me to try something new.
9 / Why did you pick the name of your blog? Sartorial for the fashion aspect of my blog, and Diner for the eating aspect of the blog. I'm also a "diner" of clothing, and I liked the way that "Sartorial Diner" sounded together.
10 / What's something your readers would be surprised to know about you? I grew up playing a lot of video games. It was the only way that I could spend time with my much older brother. I don't play a lot now, but I'm definitely into dorky iPhone/iPad games. So much so that my professors and classmates always tease me about it.
11 / Do you tell people about your blog in your personal life? I was incredibly hesitant at first. The idea of a blog just seemed so egotistical; however, it turns out I have a wonderful support group in my friends and family, and they love reading along!

I'm Thankful For...

1 / First and foremost, I'm incredibly thankful for my parents. Without their constant support and love I would never had made it so far in my life.
2 / My five senses, which allow me to enjoy how colorful and thrilling life can be.
3 / Technology! Without it I'd never have a platform to voice my opinions, and communicate with so many people from so far away.
4 /  My brother. He always encourages me to step outside my comfort zone, and never fails to put a smile on my face.
5 / Being bilingual. I speak Mandarin Chinese as well as English, and it certainly helps a lot (as well as makes life fun when I travel).
6 / The simple but necessary parts of life like food on my table, running water, and a roof over my head.
7 / Friends that truly stand by my side and pick me up when I'm down. Without my childhood friends, or friends from school I'd be lost.
8 / On the same note as friends, I'm thankful for their patience as I'm always snapping pictures of everything when we hang out.
9 / Living in the bustling city of New York where I'm surrounded by so much culture and food, while having the opportunity to return home to the calm and relaxed California to see family when I need a break.
10 / I'm also thankful for my youth. This suspended moment in my life where I'm walking the line between whimsy and responsibility.
11 / The trials and tribulations I've encountered. Without these heart wrenching moments, I would never have learned to be thankful and appreciate all the good in my life.

With that said, I'm also thankful for you. Seeing so much talent in the blogging community is incredibly uplifting and inspiring. The friends I've made through this little page of mine are just astounding. So a big "thank you" to those who have read from the beginning, and those joining in now. Let's continue to get to know each other and grow some more together.

Happy Thanksgiving! pink_heart_small_thumb
