We decided to make a day of exploring various artistic sights in Houston, and started with the Rothko Chapel. It's a non-denominational chapel that's also a major work of modern art. They don't allow photographs, as it's a place for worship/meditation, so I really urge anyone in the area to see it for themselves. Afterwards, we took a quick walk over to the Menil Collection. It's an art museum that offers free admission, and features a rotating range of work. I personally loved their exhibit on rubbings, and it showed an incredible range this form of art could take. It's a quick stop, so there's definitely no pressure to spend all day here!
